Nasi kerabu is very popular in the east coast states of Malaya such as Kelantan and Terengganu. It is a Malay rice dish, a type of nasi ulam, in which multi-coloured rice is eaten with dried fish or fried chicken ( very seldom with barbecued beef or lamb ), crackers, pickles and other salads.
This eatery outlet specialises in Nasi Kerabu in a very unconventional way…the main side dishes are barbecued chicken, beef or lamb. The lamb side dish is the favourite with the regulars. I have to wait an extra half an hour to secure the lamb side dish. The exotic, earthy, and aromatic nuance of the different herbs, paired with rice and dry-toasted shredded coconut or kerisik with the barbecued lamb yield a richly fragrant and scrumptious concoction that is authentically unique.
It is located at the Bomba Kota Bharu junction.
For Nasi Kerabu lovers this outlet is a must-try.
